Has Anyone Else Lost ALL Respect for John McCain? ?

• John McCain has been running ad after ad attacking Barack Obama with misleading if not outright FALSE information about Obama's positions and record. At the end of each ad, McCain proudly declares "I'm John McCain and I approved this message," as a picture of a smug looking McCain with caked-on make-up to disguise his age, is shown to the viewer. The picture is always taken from his right side so that people don't see the puffiness of his left cheek, a result of his cancer treatments, and question his health or ability to lead. Why is John McCain using such divisive "smear" tactics? Why has John McCain sold out EVERY belief/ position he used to hold in his REAL "maverick" days? Why are John McCain and the Republican party faking "outrage" over NOTHING? Why does John McCain want to DISTRACT the American People from the ISSUES and instead make this election about personality? Has anyone else lost ALL respect for John McCain?

  Absolutely. The saddest thing is (as is evidenced by many of the remarks here), some people are actually buying into the lying and smear campaign. One of the most distressing comments is the one that says that Obama is trying to dodge the issues, when he's trying to talk about them and is constantly interrupted by smear tactics. I was really excited for an Obama vs. McCain campaign - I thought we would actually get to hear an intelligent dialogue about the issues - but McCain stooped to "scare and smear". I hope the majority of Americans are smart enough to see past this ruse.
