How do the poor benefit from universal health care?

How will health care benefit this country?

  • Someone who is not retarded and actually knows what they are talking about, give me your reason(s)/argument. In the current state that this country is in...how is this good for anyone?

    Health Care for all! What a novel concept. Who will pay for it? Where will the money come from? Do you find yourself with so much extra money after taxes that you can toy with the idea of the government having an open check to your pocketbooks and skimming off more and more? Just throw caution to the wind and heap on trillions more in debit? How can any Health Plan that includes every citizen, legal or illegal provide any semblance of quality when dealing with the sheer quantity and the endless seas of people? There is NO good answer to any of the above questions. Just think about it! It will be like a death sentence to our economy. The added tax burden could be the last nail in our coffin. A trip to the doctors office will be a living nightmare to experience. Exactly like a trip to the DMV. You like going there? Seriously. Think about it. You go to any DMV and you can expect to be there all day watching the staff working in slow motion, like they are having a contest to see who can go the slowest! All of a sudden in the midst of the painfully sluggish pace, just when you think that they couldn't possibly get any further behind, one will pop up and abandon their station leaving the rest of the office short handed while they take their break! If the government can't run a local DMV office how do you think they can run a whole Health Care System? Answer: THEY CAN'T for Gods sake! All of the Doctors and nurses and staff will be overworked and underpaid and will treat you like dirt because they are so miserable. Just like the DMV. Every decision on your illness will be based on how broke the system is, (and make no mistake, it will be broke) instead of on how much you are suffering. It can not possibly work. It hasn't worked in Europe or Canada why should it work here especially during a Depression?

Public heath care is never the answer. The smart thing to do would be implementing laws that limit and/or discourage malpractice. Over half the cost of a birth in the US goes to pay insurance companies to protect the Dr.s and Hospitals should something go wrong. People have long forgot that medicine is a practice and should be treated as such. Next, we should put a limit on the amount Drug companies should be allowed to charge for medicine, again making health care more affordable for everyone. The worse thing about public heath care is where will the Dr.'s live? Granted every doctor probably would love to practice medicine in Miami Florida, but once those positions are filled, who will work in the slums of Detroit? It doesn't matter, the government will be telling Doctors where they will go to work and when. Next it will be the teachers, followed by you and I. Yet, people get so offended when someone utters the word "Socialism".

47 million americans are uninsured. Tens of thousands die annually. We need to bring down health care prices so more people can be insured and perhaps live. We can do this be encouraging Competition in the highly inefficient health care companies. We can do this by a public option. It will be like a health care company. Which will only be paid by premiums. This should bring down prices.

I don't know enough about you to give you an example you would care about. OK, let's say you are a teenager. You think you are invincible. In a few years you graduate from colledge & are on own & you get a job working for someone who has his own business. You love what you are doing but your friend is starting out & can not afford to pay health ins. benefits to you. You find out you have diabetes. You find out cause you pass out one day. You get rushed to the hospital & they want you to stay until you get to a good level. So you spend a few days in the hospital. You just started out & don't have a lot of money but the bill comes to $10,000 & you make enough money to have purchased health ins. but you were so busy you didn't get it. So you take the $10,000 you saved & pay the bill. Now you have diabetes & you go to get insurance & are told it will be $1000 a month. I mean I can give you a million scenerios & if you only care about yourself you will say that could never happen to you. You will find out it will happen to you. Sarah Palin's daughter was on the Greta Van Sustren show saying her mother was open to her having an abortion. Most likely the child Sarah says is her own is her younger daugters cause her own sister was on TV saying that she never showed & no one new she was pregnant including the people she worked with & her parents. So many people lie & hide the truth & judge others but if you can see we are all one & find out what people have went through working their whole adult life only to lose everything when they got cancer or a loved one has something else happen you will understand & if you don't life will teach you the hard way.

Power

This country was built on equal rights for all yet there are so many people who are not equal when it comes to health care. Without proper health care you can not do your best at anything, so no health care adds to unemployment, under-employment and kids failing in school. Fixing these problems has to be better for this country, right?
