When Is The UK. Parliament Going to Put Acta To Vote? &if they don't sign it, will America still enforce ACTA?
-
I live in America and I heard that if UK parliament doesn't sign ACTA, then ACTA won't go into effect in America. I don't know if that's true, but I hear a lot of mixed information about ACTA all the time. Supposingly it is in effect here in America, yet youtube and imvu weren't shut down yet. And so I need to know if whether UK parliament signs off on the treaty or not will matter here in America. Also, if America does decide to just go through with it and enforce ACTA, when will I expect for major websites to be shut down? I need an exact date, or month for when UK parliament will put ACTA to vote (if anyone knows, that is). An exact date or month for worse case scenario here in America for the death of the internet would also be appreciated (shut down of websites, etc). I know that further debate in Europe will happen in March, and the latest to sign off is June. But if a date for the vote is already set, It'd be nice to know. Please only answer if you know, and please cite any references (news article, news video, or any other credible source), if you can. Please no rumors. Thanks

Answer:
there is a lot of misinformation about ACTA.Paranoid people spread it around and scare each other LOL Read the info on the right panel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Counterfeiting_Trade_Agreement it says : not in force it will be in force once 6 major countries ratify it which will take maybe few years.....IF that ever happens. MYTH: people say ACTA will force border agents to scan people's MP3 players....but this is not true. The search will be made ONLY on commercial level ,lets say on someone who imports HUNDREDS of DVDs at the same time. ACTA will unfortunately force ISPs to commit deep-packet-inspecting and warn its costumers but still....this needs to be ratified by at least 6 countries. If UK doesn't sign it now then they will probably sign later. This is an open international treaty that every country can join ,whenever they want. I'm personally against ACTA's internet enforcement methods but other things such as drug control and border search;do not concern me at all.
