Wanting to work in an Refugee camp, How to go about it?

I am wanting to go to an refugee camp in Sudan, Africa to help out and just be a help to them. I need to know where can I find as much information on how to do so. Do you just fly over their and show up? Or can you get some type of funds, or help with airfare? If anyone has any ideas or anything please can you help me? Thank you very much : )

im in u.k. & a friend of mine is a youth worker in moss side, manchester & goes to ethiopia for six weeks before christmas with them due to sponsorship by a local church foundation but local church. so maybe finding an organisation instead of just turning up would be best
