What are some really cool things about Yahoo accounts?

A Separate Yahoo Answers Group for Persons about 25 up? Here are some of the answers that I received when I---

  • asked the question. Surprisingly most people supported the idea, which is unusual in a forum with so much negativity. Each paragraph begins a separate answer from a separate person: Are you kidding, these kids not only lie about their age they have two, three or four different names they go by and if they feel like getting you deleted and don't have anything else to do, they sign in under those names and delete your answers. Or your questions. Stand by for lots of this for the next 3 months, some schools let out for summer in May and others let out in June I am very careful that my answers are never offensive, but if the kids don't like my ideas, they just claim that it is not a question or an answer and Yahoo seems to delete it automatically if they get a couple of complaints, and those may be from one kid using two different names. Some wouldnt go into the over 25 group, cause they would think it was boring.Very good idea! So true, but I don't think yahoo is interested in fixing the problem, we have been asking this for some time now.Or they listen to the wrong people, and try to fix in ways that don't really work Most kids would not be attracted to a site that says it is for 25 up. We can get along with a few all right. It is having so many hostile kids, as we do now, that make the forum intolerable. And Yahoo catering to them, when they eliminate intelligent sound statements just because immature kids are feeling their oats. One of the biggest reasons for asking for a 25 up group, is that most of us have been deleted and accused of violations, just because we have expressed intelligent opinions and been censored by immature kids who object to anything that does not match their prejudices. The past is a travesty I sometimes suspect Yahoo staff is in the under 25 group since they delete intelligent questions right and left. Or maybe they just feel they have to cater to the majority. I agree with you that they should have different age brackets in here. It is interesting to see what the younglings are thinking but, sometimes I wonder. I've been absent from this place for about six months because of the exact things you point out. I agree with you. Yahoo Answers is subject to the whims of naughty children who sign up with multiple accounts so they can "game" the community here and delete anything that doesn't please them. I suppose it's normal for children to exhibit childish behavior but it is astounding that Yahoo would allow itself to be tugged around like this There were a number of good answers and I am happy to see that I am not the only one that gets frustrated on this site. The trouble is, I am never sure whether I am fighting the kids or Yahoo, nor do I know for sure that the Yahoo censors are adults. If the Yahoo censors are just kids themselves, well.............. Agreed. You know, I think I agree with you on that. If kids want to impersonate adults and can do it by acting maturely, I don't have a problem with that either. I agree with you, and I'm fourteen. I'm very tired of seeing my peers posting stupid questions, giving stupid answers, not knowing what they're typing, spamming, reporting everyone whose avatar they don't like, or someone whose answer they didn't like. And that is true, we are a very angry group of people who can't stand opinions. But like you said, let those who can handle it stay. I'd rather not be trapped with a bunch of illiterates who can't use a keyboard or show any sign of respect towards the English language. I agree. One of Yahoo! Answers biggest aims seems to be to protect the kiddies from ideas. i could care less about age or maturity, just get rid of the dang report monkeys! There are a million stories like yours. The more sincere and honest you try to be, the more likely you will get deleted or suspended. This may be because kids do not have enough experience to know the truth when they hear it, or are so hostile at that age that they complain about everything.

Loved reading this, thanks. And I agree. I've been on for only 3 months. I use it now to address some of the worst offenders. It's all too easy, but ultimately boring. Today someone cited Che Guerrera. omg, lol, hahaha.

i agree 100% that most "kids" who ask questions or apply their b.s....err...opinions, they only want to hear how many people agree. No matter how foolish or factual the answers, they report or delete because they don't agree in their initial gut reactions. Their disagreement, with no correlation to the pertinenace in the question, is like the child that puts their fingers in their ear and screams "i cant hear you". Sometimes, you just have to remember alot of them are...well...kids.
