A new law for unemployment in Wisconsin?

Oregon State Unemployment law/policy?

  • The unemployment received information regarding the status of my employment from my previous employer: Unemployed-FIRED. They approved me anyways. Now they are saying I was fraudulent, need to pay back my unemployment AND I am being fined. I am currently employed, but there is no way I can pay them back. I do not understand why I should be responsible for their decision when they had the same information before and after I received benefits. I don't understand how they can approve me and then call me fraudulent when nothing has changed. What can I do to protect myself? (I can't afford a lawyer, but if anyone would like to point me in the direction of a helpful Oregon State law, I would appreciate it)

  • Answer:

When you got the notice there was also an insert that explains how to request a hearing. You should request the hearing and explain the circumstances.
