• Hypothetical... what if Bill Gates and Warren Buffett decided to combine their money (which Buffett said he will donate 99% of his money to the Gates Foundation anyway) and buy a large Island or large coastal country land ( maybe 5 million acres or more) and form their own country? Where would you think a prime location would be (where the government that owns the land will recognize the new country), what would it take to build a new country from scratch, giving current citizens (hopefully under 50,000) option to leave or join the new country. Then build a military, cities (like UAE has done), free education, free health care, and taxes only 10% for all. I figure if they invest their money into a small 5% interest and make 5 billion in interest alone, which is higher than a lot of countries. Then after they establish a beautiful country that can take in applicants to make it 100,000 people every 5 years or so. Just saying. For example: Bill Gates - worth (selling all stocks and investments) $56 billion Warren Buffett - worth (selling all stock and investments) $50 billion Thye buy Gracias a Dios Department from Honduras for $2 billion and pay $1 billion to Honduras to become a free country and enter into a treaty with them. It has about 76,000 people who live there so they can remain there or the new country leader can move them into a property in Honduras. I am curious if you can answer a few questions: 1. What country do you think would allow a small part of their country to break off and for their own independence? (must be coastal country, a country that people would love to live) 2. How much would it cost to build cities like Dubai. 3. How much would it cost to build an administration, small police, military, welfare, ect.. 4. anything else you can think of.. I am really looking for serious answers and would really like to hear from people who would put thought into it. Imagine if you have the $100 billion what type of country would you like to have, and would it be possible?
