What are some CHEAP family vacations?

  • my family & i were going to go to Florida for a vacation this summer, but its too expensive. it would end up being 2000 dollars for 4 of us, flight, hotel, car, food, etc... where is somewhere cheap to visit? not necessarily a beach, anywhere. im from johnstown, PA by the way.

    Camping is cheap and fun and when you camp you can afford to go almost anywhere because the money you're saving on hotels. Anywhere there is going to be a beach there will be a campsite nearby

2000 for flight, hotel, car and food is not expensive at all for 4 people. Try going camping.

Rent a camper or tent and go to any of the thousands of campgrounds. To get a rough idea, visit the KOA site http://www.koa.com/ There are thousands of other campgrounds other than KOA, but KOA is probably one of the best known affiliate chains in North America. KOA also has quality standards that must be met in order for a campground to be affiliated with KOA. For a more complete list, see: http://www.gocampingamerica.com/index.aspx My family started by renting a camper one summer and touring the Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec. The next year we started our annual tour of National Parks. Within 2 years we owned a camper and camping became a weekend getaway activity as well as a vacation mode of travel.

Go somewhere you can drive, beach, philidelphia, it depends on your family's taste. try to do a day trips omewhere you guys would enjoy.

Lake Erie is a great vacation spot. it has a decent beach and there's a bunch of hotels to choose from. there is even a water park and theme park nearby. I hope this helped
