Do i need both parents permission to travel alone?

  • i live with both my parents but my dad dosent want to let me trave a lone to japan. my mother is absolutley fine with it. im 17 years old do i even need permission? if so do i need both of their permission?

    Just one parent and I was in Japan last month it is the safest country ever, everyone will go out of their way to help you if you ask them.

technically yes. If your mom allows you and your father doesnt. Your father can actually place a lawsuit against your mother if you do go. its kinda considered kidnapping from your father.. but i doubt your dad will go to that extreme and sew ur mom..... Untill your 18 than the decision becomes yours,

I believe you need your parents permission if you are under 18. I think you should talk it over with both your parents and maybe your father can compromise if you will live with a family like in a homestay.
