How do I get to Mordor?

  • Well for the Christmas Holidays my family and I were thinking of taking a trip to Mordor so we could climb up Mt Doom. I heard the view from there is amazing and it gives you a fantastic tan. The one problem really is how do I get there. I can't seem to find the website for Mordor Airlines and Platform 9 and three quarters certainly doesn't get there. Is there like a bus or cruise to get there? Please help me.

    Wikitravel gives you all the info you need! http://wikitravel.org/en/Mordor According to wiki, you cannot simply walk, but you have to rock in to Mordor. Or take the shortbus. Alternatively, the quickest way in is to fly with a Nazgul

I didn't know that was a real place....I thought it was some Lord of the Rings thing. Ah, alright. Well first, you have to find the shire. Then ask Frodo for directions. Gandalf may lead you part of the way, but you know, he can't be trusted because he always has to go do something or disappears and such. Considering Frodo and Sam have been there, they will probably help ya out. Maybe they will even go tanning with you. Be sure to stop by Rivendale, the elves will give you this amazing tanning lotion that will last for hours!

You'll first need to get to Auckland, New Zealand - you can fly there on an Airbus or take a cruise. Then drive south for about 4 hours until you get to a place called 'National Park'. Not far from National Park is a mountain called Mt Ngauruhoe. This is Mt Doom. Wear at least SPF30+ sunblock because the sun burns skin badly in NZ (it has a thin ozone layer). And don't leave 'precious' items in your car at the car park... there are Gollums everywhere.
