Going to Tenerife in 1 week?

  • Im going to Tenerife Los Cristianous in 1 week with my husband and 2 children, never been before, whats it like? does anyone know? not going all inclusive like we normally do, is it expensive and are there nice restaurants? little bit worried its going to be really comersulised.

    the preceding answers are accurate in the eyes of the visitor - we all want and expect something different from a holiday. If you want the truth and hard facts - YES the area is commercialised there is no getting away from it, BUT there are still good times to be had that don't revolve around "English bars" and "English food". I went to Tenerife, but stayed over at Los Gigantes, where I must say it was very nice. Still lots of concrete around - apartments and the like, but the beaches and cafes, bars and restaurants were all very good and reasonable too! The people were friendly and had time for you. Took a trip over to Las Playas & Los Cristianous - did not like Las Playas, but Los Cristianous was ok - as mentioned before the market was good! Also went to the medival jousting thing -was only ok (food terrible!) - but I think for children it would be exciting and a good night out! Took a wonderful boat trip from Los Cristianous - do check them out, lots of different types on offer. All in all the holiday will be what you make it and if you go thinking you will not enjoy it - well you probably won't! I went with not very high expectations, prepared to take it all as I found it and guess what? I found that I rather enjoyed it all!

Los Christianos is lovely. Nice beach, lots of restaurants etc. Quieter than Las Americas. Close to there if your kids are old enough for a pub night out. You'll like it.

Dogs Rock!

Its a bit like blackpool but you can swim in the sea. There are lots of nice restaurants, its a bit quiet nightlife wise which is good if your kids are small. Its a small eough island to visit all over. The market on sunday is good, the little zoo nearby is good. But it has palm trees and lizards. I really like it there. Most people speak English so its not too difficult to shop and get around, but enough people speak spanish to make it feel and sound different.

FABULOUS place! I went in June and had 2 weeks of everything good.Food and drinks very reasonable - just a couple of euros for a good meal. We had a boat trip and a couple of bus trips.If the children aren't too little then take them to the Castille san Miguel for a medieval night. Loro Parque is a MUST. If you haven't already booked your transfers then the ordinary buses from the Airport to Los Christianos are plentiful and very cheap. Don't bother with a'Blanket Trip' -the kids and you will be bored.You must try the licorice ice cream - it's gorgeous! It might be just as well to take a travel kettle and a jar of QT as some places don't think that people drink tea !! Oh ! I wsh I was going back next week, too. ENJOY !

I'm sorry but i say it as it is!! It's loud full of clubs and bars and drug fueled teenagers!! You will be lucky to get sleep until apx 5/6 in the morning? Went to Tennerife once and never again!! It's a bleedin dump!! Did your travel agent not say it's hardly a place for a young family to go??? E- mail me for more feedback if you want??
