I think snorkeling around Makena was nice. http://www.islandwonder.com/maui/locations/makena/makena_area_photo_gallery.htm I think the kids might like to see the blowhole. Hopefully if you go, it will be a day when it is real active. Also, there is a hike to get down to it.
