Where are the best places to go in Maine?

  • My boyfriend and I both live in New Jersey and are thinking about taking a trip to Maine in May. We are thinking about going to Mooshead Lake...Which is over 9 hrs away from here. We are not sure if we should make a pit stop and stay somewhere at the half way point... Where are some of the best places to go/see/stay in Maine?! Help!

    Oh yes go to Bar Harbor Maine its absolutly wonderful you will love it ,if I could I would buy a home there!

Depends, Bar harbor is wonderful but Jackman Maine 04945 rocks same place where you are going just realized that lol but still wonderful used to live there anyway Brunswick and Portland are nice too

The Old Port in Portland is nice; LL Bean in Freeport is fun, Freeport is very touristy. If you need somewhere inexpensive to stay at, the Lewiston/Auburn area has some less expensive but still safe and clean hotels. Old Orchard beach isn't the tourist haven it used to be but it's still fun to walk around. It might not be fully open in May, but you'll be able to walk the beach without the crowd.
