When is the best time to travel to Sicily and Italy?

When is the best time to travel around the world?

  • I have just finished my 4 years of uni and would love nothing better than to see the world. After finding it difficult to enter the workforce as a graduate, I decided to set off on my world adventure. I had planned to live and work in London (just doing odd jobs) for a year and then take off and see the rest of Europe backpacking. I am now 4 weeks away from my departure date. After attempting to hand in my resignation, my work decided they did not want me to leave and so have now offered me my full time dream job. While it is exciting to have been offered a job, I am confused if i should go traveling and get it out of my system now while I'm young (I'm 22) or take this amazing job opportunity! Im just not sure at what other stage in my life I will have the freedom to travel in this way. I would love some advice on when is the best time to travel. For example; should I work for a few years and get some experience under my belt first ( which will make it easier to get a job when I return to Australia) or should I pass up the job and travel now before settling down? I'm sincerely torn!! If anyone else has had an experience such as this or could offer some advice I'd love to hear it! Thanks!

tough call! would work let you have SOME time off to travel BEFORE starting your new dream job? Could you take 2 months off first? Or even 4 weeks? It would be very hard to ever take off travelling once you "settle" into a dream job and start to get more serious with mortgages / relationships etc. travel is also much easier to do when you are young! when you get older its hard to put up with hostels etc and you sort of want more luxury... meaning it makes travel very expensive. ask your boss if you can have a few weeks off, go travelling then come back and give your new job 110%! PS don't forget that you CAN "pop" over to Europe from London for little mini breaks / weekend etc... with the Eurostar getting over (or under) the sea is not a long process... so you COULD always do some city visits on long weekend. Obviously you can't go long haul!

You should travel when you have saved enough money after taking up a job. The best time is July August Sweet Mildred is my queen crawl into our playpen

I think it would be all year as different countries offer variety all year.

Hi Bella Al, this is a tough question, and I think there is no right or wrong answer. On one hand you have been offererd your dream job, which probably does not come around very often in live, and just maybe never again (sorry, I don't wanna be negative, Lol), on the other hand, if you don't travel the world now you might not have the chance later. Reason is that you can not interrupt your carreer for a longer period of time, and you might want to get married and have a family one day. You really have to decide for yourself what you wanna do, since everybody has a different outlook in life. Let's say you wanna travel the world now, You said that you have about 20G (I assume U.S. Dollars). In that case it should last you about one year including a Round-The-World Air Ticket, accommodation in hostels, eating like the locals, etc. I would definitely purchase a Round-The-World Ticket, which is a lot cheaper than paying for individual airfares. There are different tickets available, depending on the number of stops you wanna make. I think the "Star Alliance" offers the best Round-The-World tickets. Here's their website: http://www.staralliance.com/en/fares/round-the-world-fare/ I would stay at hostels in order to safe money, and by the way, you will meet a lot of cool people from all over the world in these hostels. I recommend the following websites for hostel reservations: www.hostels.com www.hostelbookers.com Since your company wants you to stay and offered you a dream job, you best be very valuable for them. How about talking to them about your dreams, and maybe they are willing to offer you the same or similar job a year later. It doesn't hurt to ask. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you all the best.
