What is a good vacation place?

What's a good place to go next on vacation?

  • my family travels every year to a new place, usually something tropical with nice beaches. We tend to go for 4-5 stars. We have been places like Varadero, Punta Cana, Mayan Riviera, Puerto Plata. But I was wondering if anyone would recommend a nice place to go to if they have had a good experiance there (not hotel just the place, and we arent going on vacation but I was trying to think of somewhere we could go, we cant afford Hawaii)

    St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, Barbados, St. Thomas, Spain. These are all places I have been and enjoyed.

I find it ironic that you say you go for 4 or 5 stars, yet you cannot afford Hawaii, could you cut down on your stars so you could see Hawaii ( a magnificient spot IMHO)....then you say you want a good place for your next vacation but then state you are NOT going on vacation. Make up your mind.

One of the best vacations we went on was actually away from the beaches. New York City was awesome. We stayed at a 5 star hotel for only $70.00 (thanks to using priceline.com) in New Jersey. If you stay in NYC the hotel prices are way too high, but if you stay in New Jersey its cheaper. We just took the subway every day to New York. You can also get some great deals going on cruises. Whats cool about a 7 day cruise is that you get to go 4 different places.

How about the Grand Canyon, you could rent an RV and go RVing, like the movie with Robin Williams. (that was funny!)
