Transit Visa.. Going to Spain but stopover @ Frankfurt!?
-
I have a ticket from Kuwait to Barcelona, Spain on Lufthansa airlines that will halt at Frankfurt airport; I already have applied for Schengen Visa from the Spanish embassy. My stopover in Frankfurt is for 12 hrs, please advise if I can use my Schengen visa (applied from Spanish Embassy) to enter into Frankfurt City for a few hrs then take my flight down to Barcelona. Or do I need to apply for another visa (transit) to enter into Frankfurt during my stopover.

Answer:
You can use your Schengen visa to enter Germany Germany and Spain are both Schengen countries, you are not in transit, you are actually entering Schengen in Germany and will have to clear Schengen Border control. The Germany-Spain flight is internal, and there will be no passport checks in Spain.
