What is the best cruise line and in your opionion the best (as in beautiful) place to visit?

    The top two 5 star cruise lines are supposed to be Silverseas and Seabourn. Neither are cheap. You can get some last minute deals on them. I have never been on a Seabourn cruise. We just got back from a Silverseas cruise from the Canary Islands in Spain, Senegal, across the Atlantic, and then 5 stops in Brazil, ending in Rio. We aren't big cruise fans. Neither of us like being stuck on a ship with such short stops at each place. One day is not enough time! However, that being said, I have heard that many people end up spending more on alcohol onboard than on the cruise itself. Silverseas was all inclusive. All tips (although I saw some people tipping) and all drinks included. If you really wanted something special, a fine vintage - whatever - then you had to pay. Otherwise, you could drink from sun up to sun down if you so pleased. If this is a big deal to you, then an all inclusive might be the way to go. Just realize that it is a bit formal and stuffy. We had 3 formal nights and people really do dress up. Even on the "informal" nights there were women in long gowns. Where you should go is up to you. What do you think is beautiful? We thought the Amalfi Coast was overcrowded. It's pretty but I wouldn't go there again. Brazil was amazing. I would also like to check out the Chilean fjords... Check out Cruisemates.com. Ummmm, BEST would be Cunard or Holland America in my opinion but they are expensive. . . . most for your money is probably Royal Carribean. If you are younger, Carnival is fun. Norwegian is good if you don't like dining at certain times. I ALWAYS book with Cruises Only (cruisesonly.com) they are great (and so are their prices). It's a good idea to book your airfare with your cruise, even though you might get your airfare cheaper booking separately. If your flight is delayed or cancelled, you are pretty much screwed if you miss the ship. When you book together, they will make arrangements for you so you don't miss your cruise. Oh, and take the trip insurance, it's usually only around $30 a person, and it's worth it if something happens. You will love taking a cruise, it's really relaxing to have everything taken care of for you. And don't worry if you don't feel so good your first day at sea, you should get over it. Buy some motion sickness patches if you're worried about it. Also, the lower in the ship your room is the less rocking you'll feel. Remember late August through mid November you are more likely to have hurricanes in the Carribean if that's where you are wanting to go (Carribean and Bahamas are the cheapest cruises and beautiful places to visit). Ok here goes. Royal Carribbean is the best cruise line for the price. And I would reccomend Alaska for your first cruise. Also book the cruise to Alaska in September for better deals. Email and I can give you a great cruise planner to help you in this matter.
