Is Sri Lanka safe as a travel destination?

What are the pre requisites to have to travel to Sri lanka for an indian citizen..?

• hello all,my name is ankit dubey and inshaAllah by the next month ill be turning 18,and so my one of the internet buddy and i have planed to meet in colombo ,as he is a pakistani so its hard for him to come to india and simillarly for me to go to pakistan,this would he my first international trip and im perplexed about the documents that i will be requiring to obtain except passport and return tickets,i have inquired about the visa policy of sri lanka and according to it they have some visa on arrival thing ,so plzz if anybody could tell me about it ellaborately that what acually it is,is it like that i would just need my passport and tickets to board the plane and ill be stamped the visa when ill get off boarded at colombo..?, or is it pre requisited to hae the visa before travelling.another important querry is pertaining the currency i read that we would have to proove the sufficent fund for the stay there ,so i wanna ask is it that we have to take cash wih us in indian rupee and then there we will get it converted into sri lankan rupee,...? plzzzz plzzzz plzzzzzzz articulate these questions for me as im really tensd regarding my travel ,... im very much nervous just dont know what to do plzzzzzz plzzzz help me thanx a lot in advance. an yes plzzzz if possible then do post ur advices and recommendations and even about the immigration things as well,itd be really great to know and get maself well prepared before i plan. thanx
