Hi! I took an EF tour in June 08. I had a great time, and everything was super nice. I'm an easy traveler though. A few things that EF did to our group which was unfortunate: Orignally we were to go to Spain, and then Italy for 9 days. They told us we didn't have enough people in our group, so they tagged us along another tour which turned out to be Italy, and then one day in Barcelona. The tours were great however. We all saw things many people might not have gotten in to see otherwise. We ate well. The bus driver was great. Communication was good, at least as a participant (to me) EF was prompt and courteous. Overall, the trip was great. Some issues are likely to happen no matter what with groups. Our overall group was 42 people. We were joined with 2 other high school groups from other states. We all got along well, but our group was college age, so at times, there were trifles. We flew on Lufthansa-AWESOME airlines. I highly recommend them. The trip was relatively expensive, but what a great time I had. It was money well spent. I would travel with EF again. Just realize that they do say on all their paperwork that itineraries are subject to change. You should have chaperones with your group, especially the person who organized the trip from your area. We had local guides that then took us around the cities we visited. Our group leaders were in charge of us, and they had to account for us to the tour guide at the time. We did have some free time in the cities. Some were 2 hours, some were more. We were told to meet back at a certain location at a particular time. Time is important on the tours, so I would highly recommend a watch. Their buses are only allowed in the big cities at certain times, for a certain length of time, so it is critical that you mind your tour guides time requests. Since I was an older adult going with college kids, I got my own room. It was nice, but actually, I would rather have hung out with the younger people. The hotels were very nice, but on our particular trips, they were a little far out of town. We couldn't walk around. The group kind of got rambunctious, but that is to be expected to some degree. While staying at a hotel or other public accomodation, just keep in mind to respect the property of the establishment and be courteous to other people that may be staying there as well. So, yes, I would do another EF tour. Just be flexible with travel plans, but also be prepared to have a great time. By the end of the trip you will have seen so many new things and met a lot of interesting people. Have fun, and hope my comments help you enjoy your trip!
