Without doing a rush request, how long does it usually take to get a passport, what can delat the process?

2-3 weeks. your paper work not being in order tends to screw things up so make sure you verify with the passport people (ie. post office or passport expiditing service) that all your information is correct... timing is another issue, during the spring/summer there is a huge surge in people getting passports (ppl tend to travel more internationally during the summer.) so if you're going to get one, i'd get one right now.
