I have no credit card and need to reserve a hotel, what can I do?

Ask if you can deposit cash straight into their account. They need a credit card number incase you sneak off and don't pay for your room, they can always charge you, aswell as if any damages occur. If they don't accept cash, ask a friend if you can charge it to their account and pay them the cash??

you can always use cash and buy a gift card..... through AMEX or VISA for sure. then, you do have a credit card!

Best method is to guarantee a hotel booking with a friends (Or some known person) with the owners concern. You can ask your friend to make the reservation for you as the lead passenger.

most hotels will let you make the reservation, but it will only be guarnteed til 1800h... one of the reasons cards are asked for is so that if you do not arrive, the first night of the planned stay will be charged as a penalty for no-show. you can either ask a friend or relative to provide you with details of their card... for this, you should send a fax/email with authorisation from your friend/relative to the hotel... if no credit card is offered at check-in, some hotels will ask for the first night to be paid there and then in cash and then ask you to pass by reception each day to liquidate your bill... they're only covering their backs... cos in most cases, if a guest goes without paying, the receptionist has to pay the money!!! not fun when you imagine the sh*t wages their on!
