Anyone been on the Oasis of the Seas? Particularly a balcony room on Boardwalk?

Fort Lauderdale VS South Beach?

  • My fiance and I are going on a cruise in December, and would like to stay a couple nights in either South Beach or Fort Lauderdale (our ship, Oasis of the Seas, leaves from Port Everglades). We are from Toronto, Canada and have only been to South Beach once, and it was for one night right before a cruise. I am wondering which place is better to stay at? I've been researching hotels and it seems that Fort Lauderdale is considerably cheaper. Which one has a nicer beach? Where is it less crowded? What hotels can you recommend to stay at? Right now, we are leaning towards staying at the Hilton in Fort Lauderdale, at $199 a night with an oceanview room with a balcony. Any advice?

  • Answer:

If you just want a nice beach and aren't looking for the clubs, culture, atmosphere, etc., Ft Lauderdale is fine. On the other hand, South Beach is topless.

Ugh. Only you make your vacation boring. You should be able to have a good time with your fiance wherever you are. Besides, if this was my honeymoon, I wouldn't even leave the hotel room.

Where the hell have you been hiding at, girl? Haven't seen you around in a long time. Answers burnout? I know the feeling.
