For college, should I move from Boston to Minneapolis?
-
I am a college student studying at Northeastern in Boston. In short, due to some financial issues, it's better for me to move to Minneapolis (University of Minnesota - Twin Cities) but I generally love the life here. Can someone give me some insights about Boston and Minneapolis? What about the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities area compared to the Northeastern area? Thank you.

Answer:
Minnesota winters and Bostonian winters are fairly similar in my visits to Boston. I've grown up in MN my entire life (recently moved to VA). I've also spent quite a bit of time around the U of M campus. There is an underground tunnel system around the hospital part of the campus which allows you easy access to class without having to go out in the frigid weather. The campus is right downtown so you have complete access to the bus system and the giant Mlps library. There is also a wide variety of good food on campus that the students can use their meal plans on. Connected to part of the campus is an area known as Dinkytown which is where most college students live and work. It has a number of great coffee places to hang out at as well as fun restaurants. Contrary to popular belief the twin cities have an awful lot going on. If you are into theatre you can find many wonderful sources on and off campus. The campus is also within bus and walking distance of sports arenas. Also, you can take the bus to St. Paul to do even more activities. The light rail or train system starts in Mlps and can take you to Mall of America which is now ranked the 4th largest mall in the world. These are just somethings about MN and being a student at the U of M. Let me know if you have any more questions! :D

See if you can move your credits Lots of web sites on the area it does get somewhat chilly in the winter but that is the reason they invented bearskin rugs and fireplaces. 10,000 lakes give or take one or two nearby if need a water fix. Air dryer and cleaner city newer not as much history 150 years .As you will be spending most of your time on campus check out that. Each faculty different and standard student activities of any other place. City costs rent and so on similar . Different parts of the city are different from each other and StPaul accross the river another different setting. If this is only for a couple of years for school worry more about the campus than the city and if $$ this may be what settles the deal. Good Luck both places good and bad just depends on what you like.
