What is the cost of living in Pennsylvania?

What is the housing like in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania?are there jobs?and the cost of living?

  • Answer:

Housing in Pittsburgh is incredibly cheap and the cost of living is very low compared to other cities. We don't tax groceries (food) or clothing. The main thing is jobs. Unemployment is lower than other cities, but getting a job here can be tough, depending on what type of work you do. We have a lot of hospitals here, so if you're in healthcare or can work at a hospital, you're probably in better shape than others. Computer and tech jobs are a good field here. Forget working at the universities. They may be the second employer in the city, but nepotism is out of control and at Pitt the salaries are ridiculously low (like $20k for an admin person). The key is to find a job here. If you have a job, this is an incredible place to live. If we only had more sunny days and a beach it would be perfect! :)

Well, I keep seeing Pittsburgh pop up on lists of good places to live, so there must be something going on there! Try "Best Places" or "Places Rated" for more info.
