• can i get my pets a passport to travel from uk to america? i am planning on moving to america, and as i understand it, if i am not a citizen then i need to be granted a work permit, which i understand must be authorised by my employer? and does anyone know the regulations or how i go about getting authority for my two dogs to come with me without quarantine?

  Bringing your pets is the least of your concerns. you must find an employer to sponsor your work visa BEFORE you enter the U.S. and this happens extremely rarely. it is nearly impossible to "move to America." Questions about immigrating or working in the U.S. are asked and answered on here very frequently. The truth is you cannot. It is simply impossible for a UK citizen...does not matter which UK country you are from, to immigrate to the U.S. did you know that about 15 million people a year try to immigrate to the U.S.? No way, can we absorb that many! MANY. UK citizens write in here every week wanting to immigrate to the U.S. and it cannot be done. You must have wither a close family member who is an American citizens to sponsor you ( then it still takes years ) or you must have very advanced education and work skills to find an employer to sponsor you. That is extremely rare ...especially now with high unemployment in the U.S. You have the entire E.U. open to you if you think changing locations will help you. Sorry, but immigration is far more difficult in real life than in the movies, and few people realize how difficult it is. Getting a work visa requires you to be extremely highly educated and skilled in a field that no American citizen is available for. 1st site below gives you the US gov't site on immigration. 2nd site gives many previous answers on Y/A. Now, if you want to apply for a student visa you may do that. You need an immense amount of money, then apply to the university you want to attend. Once you are accepted, the international students office at that university can help you apply for a student visa. See 3rd site below. The U.S. does not have poet passports or visas and does not use quarantine. You just have to have a recent rabies shot and shot record for your dog and a recent international health inspection form...any vet should have them. The airlines require the shot record and health exam.
