How's life in San Luis Obispo?

What is living in the San Luis Obispo area like?

  • I've heard a lot of mixed stuff about it....But like, how would it be to live in for a teenager who's about 13-17? Is there ever anything to do, is it nice, hows the weather? That kinda stuff. Thanks in advance.

It's nice...San Luis Obispo itself is mostly just college kids and seniors. You don't see too many 13-17 year olds. The 5 Cities (Arroyo grande, Grover Beach, Pismo, etc.) and SLO are verrrrryy athletic communities. There are community centers and sports fields everywhere you go. As far as anything to do, wellllll my friends and I go to the park a lot. There are 2 movie theaters in the 5 Cities area. 3 I think in SLO. There's a mall in Santa Maria, but to be honest Santa Maria and Oceano are kinda the bad parts of the Central Coast. During the summer in Arroyo Grande and in Paso Robles the water slides are open and they're a lot of fun to go to. There's a lot of places to go shopping. And the beaches are all very nice except for Oceano (most people go to it for the dunes), Pismo and Avila are the best. The weather is mostly always sunny. In the morning is the coldest time of day (duh) it usually heats up during the daytime. There are colder days in the winter, and in October-December you'll get some rain, but not much. This year there wasn't much, but we've had some years where we get 3 weeks straight. The schools are nice and fun. I really love living here and I'm 13.
