Where is a good place to spend 4th July?

  • I'm going to be in eastern/central USA around the end of June beginning of July and was wondering where is a good place to spend the 4th of July? I'm a 24 yr old Scottish guy and will be travelling on my own. I need your advice! Any invitations to parties/bbqs would be good too....

Boston, for sure...we have so much going on here for the 4th, and there is a lot of history to explore. You'll have a good time, there are lots of pubs, great fireworks, parades, always fun! Feel free to email me if you have any questions :)

I always fly back to the US for the forth and spend it at a minor league baseball game. Sounds corny I know, but see what the local minor league team is near where you will be and go to a game, they almost always have fireworks after the game and it's a good taste of Americana. I'll be at the Scranton Wilkes Barre Yankee's game if you're in that area!

The Groton Connecticut Sub Base. (Where they make submarines.) Hundreds of thousands of people go. I've been there every year since I was a baby, and last year, they did over $2.5 million worth of fireworks.
