What is the economy like on the Florida panhandle?

Outdoor wedding: planning for the weather? (Florida Panhandle)?

  • I am trying to plan a beach wedding in Florida (panhandle/gulf coast), I have not set a date yet and I'm wondering if there is a way to find out what time of year will be my best bet for good weather and good beach conditions. The ceremony will most likely be at or right before sunset, and followed by a reception. These are some of the things I'm trying to consider when setting a date: - rain / hurricane season (what months have the most, and least, rainfall?) - seaweed on the beach / in the water (not sure if there are "seasons" for this or if it's completely random?) - heat (definitely don't want to be sweating in my wedding dress...) Thanks!

  • Answer:

Congratulations on your wedding. It is my understanding that it rains every day in the State of Florida. I thought hurricane season starts in spring and goes through the fall, but I don't live there, check weather sites for that. It will be hot and humid in summer, it would seem like early spring or winter would be a good choice.
