I am planning on moving to California. What are some good cities to live in?

I have lived in California all of my life. Each city has its ups and down. Beverly Hills one of the most expensive places to live has alots of crime activities. You can go to Yahoo Real Estate and put in the city and then click on Neigbhood Report. It will give you all of the latest data; crime, weather, school rating, nationally, job class percentages, etc. What I alway do before I move to a city is that I go into the police web site for that city. I check out the crime that is currently going on in that city. I go the the web site for the local newspaper and read the headlines of what the key issues are for that area. I have lived basically in Southern California, and now I am moving up to Northern California in the Lake County area. I found out that rent is cheaper up there than most cities. The towns are around this big natural lake, and the schools have good ratings.

Since I like San Fransisco and it has very little crime I would say either San Fransisco or northern California near the wine county like Sonoma.

well... Chico is a great city, 78 thousand people, Northern Cali, close to sacramento, san francisco, and redding, college town, but has a bunch of stuff... check out downtown chico, awesome stores!!! almost all towns have a bad part cant do much about that, but its a great city, and it has beautiful parks!!! ooh! and wonderful job opportunities.
