How to fish on Sanibel Island, Florida?

Traveling to Sanibel Island, Florida Recommendations for hotels?

• We are going to be traveling to the Sanibel Island area of Florida this summer for a family vacation. Can anyone recommend a decent place to stay on the Gulf or activities in that area? Or another area for us to look at that would be on the beach with fishing, snorkeling, dolphin and manatee watching, shell hunting.........any of those.

  I stay in a condo each year so I am sorry that I cannot tell you about that but, the Lighthouse Cafe has the best breakfast and clam chowder around! You must go there. Also check out Cheburger Cheburger you will just love it. Also the Bubble Room is a very fun place to go. Be sure to check out the Ding Darling Nature reserve very cool and a lot of wildlife. You will not have to go far for shelling Sanibel is the best place in Florida for shells. Most of the deep sea fishing and snorkling tours take off from Fort Meyers. If you are going to go back and forth a lot please check into the pass for the causeway it will save you money. Just a note most of Sanibel shuts down very early 5-6. There is a pharmacy and a grocery store both have early hours. I would rent a bike or a moped they are fun and this is a great place for that! You can ride around the whole island. Good shopping on the island mostly small stores interesting stuff. There is also a big outlet mall in Fort Meyers. If you contac the Sanibel visitors center they will send you out a vistors packet and coupons which is always nice, they will also help you find anything you need. I know there is a Best Western on the island which is nice but, if you are staying a week or more the condos and houses are a better option and are usually cheaper, Check out the website at: www.sanibelisland.com There is also the reservation central line which is for tourist,,,,,it is staffed by locals and they should be able to help you.
