NJ is a big state. If you are in south Jersey, you can go into Philadelphia, in north Jersey, you can take the train into NYC. You can also go to the science museum at Liberty State Park, which is very nice. The shopping is great whether you go to Secaucus or Elizabeth near Newark airport where you pay half tax on items. No sales tax on clothes anywhere in the state. Central NJ go walk around the beautiful town of Princeton. Go to the state museum and planetarium in Trenton. That is free. There is Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson. South Jersey has a wonderful aquarium in Camden and Atlantic City for gambling and night life. The beaches in NJ are some of the finest in the world, but in NJ we call it the shore. There are historic houses in Trenton, Washington's Morristown Headquarters. The Edison Museum in N. Jersey is very interesting and free because it is a national park.

Depending on what end of the state you are on there is a ton of stuff to do. The Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island (near Newark, NJ) Six Flags Great Adventure - Jackson, NJ Adventure Aquarium - Camden, NJ http://www.adventureaquarium.com/ Cape May Zoo - Cape May, NJ http://www.co.cape-may.nj.us/Cit-e-Access/webpage.cfm?TID=5&TPID=442 Morey & Mariner's Pier - Wildwood, NJ Clementon Park - Clementon, NJ Cohanzick Zoo - Bridgeton, NJ http://www.co.cumberland.nj.us/tourism/cohanzick_zoo/ Lakota Wolf Preserve - Columbia, NJ http://www.lakotawolf.com/ Jenkinson's Aquarium - Point Pleasant, NJ http://www.jenkinsons.com/aquarium/ The Art Museum at Princeton University - Princeton, NJ Grounds for Sculpture - Hamilton, NJ Battleship NJ - Camden, NJ http://www.battleshipnewjersey.org/ High Point State Park - Sussex, NJ http://www.state.nj.us/dep/parksandforests/parks/highpoint.html For other NJ attractions: http://www.state.nj.us/infobank/museums.html There are also great beaches & since it is after Labor Day most are free during the week. My favorites are Cape May, Sea Isle, & Avalon all in southern NJ. Or you could go for the boardwalks. The best are in Wildwood & Seaside. There are a ton of casinos in Atlantic City. These offer gambling, shows, & fine dining. You can also find a lot of little shops & things to go through if that is your thing. Some nice shopping areas can be found in Rancocas, Mullica Hill, Lambertville, & Haddonfield. If you like outlet shopping more there are outlets in Jackson & Flemington. You can also take the Cape May - Lewis Ferry from Cape May to Delaware at which point they offer a shuttle into Rehoboth Beach, DE. You are also close to all of the offerings in Philadelphia & NYC depending on which end of the state you are on. There are also various sporting arenas, like the Trenton Thunder & the Atlantic City Surf, where you can get game tickets the day of for about $10 each. I hope this helps & you enjoy your visit to NJ.

Go to Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. There's also an aquarium in Camden, New Jersey. Many places to go and see.

Depends on what area of Jersey you are visiting. There is a big difference between Cape May & Camden. You can't go more than 5 miles before the next toll booth. Of course there is Atlantic City. They have some pretty cheesy museums there. There is a good aquarium in Camden but you had better lock your car up tight along with the alarm, club, tire boot and German sheppard.

go to the beach

If you're in Northern NJ, take the train or bus into NYC. If you're in Southern NJ, go to the shore. Western NJ, go to Philadelphia or hiking in the hills of Pennsylvania.
