What area of Lake Tahoe would be ideal for a group of 21 year olds?

Im looking to go to Lake Tahoe for the first time with a pretty decent size group of friends (10-12 of us, guys and girls) this SUMMER. We would like to rent a house/cabin. We are all 21-22 years old so Im wondering what part of Lake Tahoe would suite us best. We like to drink and hang out but not necessarily party hardy. Gambling is always an option. We also like to explore and do any sort of activities that involve getting out and about. Any place where the cute girls stay would also be nice :P. We're just a fun bunch of people. Some place thats maybe not overly packed with people (if thats possible).
