What is Arkansas like?

What is your opnion on Arkansas? What would you guess it was like?

  • I am from Arkansas and I really get tired of going places and people acting like they are surprised I wear shoes and dont have a bear and a racoon as a pet. What do people who have never been think Arkansas is like? Be honest...and if you have been what did you think?

    I've been, but I'm from Georgia, and people often act the same way--they expect me to sound like I'm from the Beverly Hillbillies, and be amazed at flush toilets. I thought Arkansas was pretty, and Little Rock was smaller than I expected, and the towns I visited weren't much different from towns here. I was in Clarkesville and Mountain Home. Note: I am from Atlanta originally.

Yo, whut it do playa, I'm from tha A-State, tha River Valley to be exact. And where I'm from its mostly hard-workin people and you can get help wit any thing any wherez in Arkansas cuz tha people are friendly. Not all people are rednecks and hicks, matter fact we gotta ALOT of rappers from tha A-State. Eva ones wearin shoes round here unless they decide to take em. And we be sportin dat South Pole, Sean John, Nike, Arizona, and all dat fly $hit. And Arkansas is tha most beautiful state you could eva live in, don't believe me, then come down here and see for ya self!

I have been to Arkansas and it it was a beautiful place. Granted, there were some hill billies, but there are people like that everywhere.

I'm from Missouri, not too far from Arkansas. When I visited, I often thought it was one of the greenest, cleanest places I'd ever been too. I really thought Eureka Springs was a neat, unique place. I know what's it's like to be treated like a hillbilly or a backwoods country person at times being from small town southern MO, so I never once thought Arkies were barefoot, etc.
