Has anyone ever been to Ocean City, MD? (esp. in April!)?

  • My family and friend are takin our Easter vacation in Ocean City. April 7-10. I have a few questions. I will accept all answers, but ESPECIALLY the ones from people who visited in April [: 1. What are some great things to do? (in april) 2. What are some negatives about going April? 3. (Besides the ocean) What are some sights to see? 4. Is the ocean different in April? How cold will it be? 5. What are some cool shops & things on the boardwalk? 6. We're stayin at the Quality Inn Boardwalk. Ever stayed there? 7. Things in walking distance to 17th St? 8. What are the birds like? (pideons/gulls in april) 9. Things I should take to ocean city 10. Things I should take from ocean city (certain souvenirs, sand?) 11. Best memory?     1.Stay indoors with your blanket with you. 2.It is really cold. 3.Don't know. 4.yes,around 10 degrees highest.which is so cold! 5.don't remember. 6.Yes. 7.I don't actually know,i can't just remember. 8.some are so cute but it is really hard to find them. 9.the thickest blanket you can find when shopping,the thickest cloth you can find pants,sweat pants. 10.yes,yes. 11.a little bit(for me). LOWEST 5 DEGREES(WHEN I WAS THERE)

It will be real cold. It could even snow that time of year. You should have gone to at least Myrtle Beach. Good Luck!

I'll add one more possibility. I grew up in New Jersey, at the shore. And there were days in April that were REALLY hot. Hot enough that we all took off to the shore. I have never in my life had such a bad sunburn. So don't forget the sunblock, and, yes. Take a good book. I'll add to this, that if you're a bird watcher, the warblers will be making their return trip. Not as fantastic as the fall migration, but be on the lookout. Also, check the bays for water fowl. Again, the numbers aren't like the fall, but you'll see a wide variety of waterfowl.

You will be disappointed because very little will be open in town. 1. Other than the boardwalk (which will have little open) there are the outlets west of town. Even the mini-golf won't be open. 2. Very little to do and the beach will be cold. 3. The lifesaving museum, that will be about it. 4. It will be very windy as the wind blows off the ocean. 5. There are a bunch of different types of shops but many won't be open until May. 6. Sorry can't help you with that one. 7. Most of the boardwalk is in walking distance of 17th Street. 8. The birds will be birds. 9. In April, sweatshirts will be necessary. You MIGHT get one good beach day in April but don't count it. 10. Pick a souvenir from everyplace you go and collect the same thing.
