Where are some small towns in North Carolina?

Good Small South Carolina towns?

• Does anyone know any small, affordable, South Carolina towns by the water? My husband and I are looking to relocate to South Carolina, he's from Arkansas I'm from Northern California. He's been in Afghanistan for a year he's done with the desert and wants to live by the water, but wants to keep it 'in the South'. He likes South Carolina (I've never been) so we want to live somewhere there that's a SMALL town BUT isn't more than an hour from somewhere with a good college and some job opportunities any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated

  I would suggest you look just north of Charleston SC there is a little town called Mt Pleasant. Only 20 min or so north on the city ,90 min south of Myrtle Beach. Cant tell you about jobs there but SC has had it tough like the rest of the country.
