What a good place to go on vacation during the summer in California?

So this summer Im planning to go on a vacation. So im planning it to just be me and my parents but knowing my family, they will all tag along. So its mostly all adults, with like 3 kids. I live in Southern California so please dont say San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, blah blah blah. Im actually looking for a place like Yosemite, Grand Canyon, places like that, in the middle of no where, nature etc. What would you say? Price does not matter. Thanks (:
