Things to do in Los Angeles?

What are fun things to do and see in Los Angeles, specifically near Beverly Hills?

• Hi All - I'm planning on a trip to LA this year. Probably in April or May (but the dates aren't set in stone yet), and going for approximately 4 days. "Home base" will be the Beverly Hills area, and we will explore the city out of that location (hotel suggestions welcomed as well, as we are yet to book one) I want to know what are the best / funnest / most interesting things to do and see while in the Los Angeles area. I already know of the big ones (Griffith Observatory, Rodeo Drive, etc) but other things in Los Angeles county within a 'reasonable' driving range would be very much appreciated. I grew up in the San Diego area, but yet I have never really explored LA (heard too many bad things when I was young), but looking forward to giving it a chance now. Let me know your thoughts!
