Are drug tests at work a big thing in America?

    The first place I worked, when I was 14, was a pet boarding place where people take their pets when they go on vacation, and I did not have to take a drug test. The second place I worked at was an assisted living home as a dinner server and did not have to take one. Right now I work at a huge, top selling car dealership, and I did have to take one. I worked there once before, then left for a year for school. When I came back they rehired me, and I had to take the drug test a second time.

As far as retail work goes, I've never been tested at all three companies.

many companies do require a drug test once you are offered a job. Not all jobs require it though
