Traveling from South Station in Boston using Amtrak?
-
I'm new to Amtrak and I have no idea what to expect. I'm in school right now in MA and I'm traveling home for spring break to New Carrollton, MD. I have my ticket already for Amtrak and I know how to get to South Station from where I'm staying. But what do I do after I arrive? Where do I go? I've never traveled by Amtrak before and the station is so busy that it's really hard to get assistance.

Answer:
Your train has a number (and possibly a name). There is an arrival/departure board in the station, similar to those in an airport, which tell you which track your train will be departing from. And there should be signage to direct you to where the various tracks are. http://www.south-station.net/PDF/StationDirectoryMap.pdf
