Answer:
We moved from Philadelphia to Bay area California and we are loving it. Great community for kids (and a local mother's club made the transition very easy). We work from home, so I can't say about jobs in the area - and there are towns out here that have lower rent than others. Boston area is geared for adults in their 30 (average age of the population) and Mass can have a way way way lot of snow. I also find a lot of folks from that area a bit snobby. Florida gulf side (like tampa, clearwater) is lovely, but I don't know about the jobs. I think the rent is cheaper than CA, though. You can look for jobs in either location by going to Monster.com or Yahoo Jobs - and there are a lot of moving resources on line too. Here's a link I found about cross country moving: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Moving-Furniture-2016/Planning-cross-country-move.htm Peace!

Are you serious man? Florida hands down. Massachusetts sucks almost as bad as NY. Yahoo just ran a story about what states have the highest % of people moving in and moving out and FL was about even. The North East had more people moving out (jees I wonder why). Anyway, Florida has lower paying jobs but it also has lower cost of living. A lot of people don't realize that. Depending on your profession you might be able to find a really good paying job and live in a nice but lower expense area and it's a win win for you! Good luck either way!

I love living in MA... theyres so many good schools. Lots of jobs, too. I live in a place called Leominster and its mostly all suburbs and condos. The bad thing is that there is high taxes. And youd still be close to NY, so if you have any family you woud be able to visit. Massachusetts is very family friendly, but you'd have to live in a small city, not like Boston.

Florida: more jobs, higher real estate prices. But for just the two of you I'm sure you'll find something and it is a very nice place in my opinion [I live there] Just make sure you find a good school district Massachusetts: Not very sure about but lower overall real estate prices.

well they both have there pros and cons. if you have experience and degrees they would both be good, but if you don't and your a blue Collier worker i would say Florida. it would be easier to find work there. but the more family place would be Massachusetts and the rent is lower in Massachusetts, but i think the minimum wage is lower so you might not make as much. were in Florida you will make more but it cost more, hey try Arizona.....

Florida is more family oriented but hot. Of course, Mass is cold. Could you meet somewhere in the middle like NC or VA?
