What are the main sites to see in the USA?

Must see sites in USA?

  • I am planning a road trip from Memphis to Fairbanks, Alaska for next summer. What do you think are must see sites in the Midwest and Northwest? Any tips on the road trip would also be helpful.

  • Answer:

Crater Lake National Park. Volcanic Lakes National Monument (Paulina Lakes) near Bend, OR. Both places have lodges. Mount Hood Timberline Lodge. Ride the ski lift up and walk down. Stay in the lodge. Mount Ranier National Park. Mount Saint Helens National Monument (but it is always rainy when I have visited). Seattle - Pioneer Square, Pike Place Market, University of Washington campus. Mount Baker. Vancouver, British Columbia. Stanley Park. Gastown. Tips? Take a cooler and load it with drinks. A lot of the larger grocery stores (Albertson's, Safeway, Fred Meyers, etc.) in the larger cities have nice delis. You can eat well for fairly cheap as opposed to restaraunts. Take some two ply toiler paper when you need to go in the middle of the desert. Heard about geocaching? www.geocache.com

If you are interested in the Oregon Trail. You can visit the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in Baker City Oregon. It's an amazing place. Oh, have you ever traveled the ALCAN highway? Make sure that you take an extra headlight and a full size spare tire. They can be hard to come by on the trip. Have fun!!

The St. Louis Arch is something to see! They've got great steaks in Omaha! Portland in the coolest city on the northwest coast - great food, shopping and it is such a charming small city, people are nice and down to earth. And then you'll need to go to the top of the Seattle space needle. Sounds like a fun trip!!

If you are going through California a little, then you defenitely need to stop there and see the Golden Gate Bridge, and Disney Land of course, and all the other amusements there... Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, i think, is a great landmark to visit, and Mt. Rushmore, and the Space Needle in Seatlle Washington...there is a lot!!!

The Greenbrier Resort and Spa. World famous and probably the nicest place to stay in the world, or atleast the top 10 in the world. Over 6500 acres, 6 golf coarses, a Presidentail retreat (really). A must see and visit, but expect to spend atleast 5 days if not longer, you will not be disappointed, it's my favorite place. Good Luck,

The whole state of Arizona is breathtaking. But the Grand Canyon is awesome!
