Where is a good spot to vacation near New Jersey?

Why does everybody hate new jersey?

  • ok, ik some places like camden and newark are bad. but most of new jersey is highly developed suburbs, good school systems, lots and LOTS of jobs, and basically everything near you within reach. its quite a good place to live in. if we werent good, there wouldnt be sooo many people living here. we have a great education system,and the taxes are high, deff, but its going to something right? stop hating new jersey! ik some people are rude, but thats mostly cuz most people are rushing here and there (especially on the roads). its no vacation spot, but everything sure seems to be in order. =]

    I love it here! I moved here 8 years ago from TN and I couldnt be happier. The only place that smells is Secaucus and thats from all the factories. Down here it is all farm and beaches. I actually live in a small town, smaller than the one I lived in when I was in TN. I think the media and sterotypes of NJ have just brainwashed people into thinking we are like the Sopranos here and its become a joke. If they came here they would be pleasantly suprised which is what happens each time someone comes to visit me for the first time. I love NJ!

I have to admit that I was one of those people who hated NJ without ever going there - just based on what I'd heard. After visiting NJ my opinion completely changed! Yes, there are some real dumps but that's true in just about any state. Same with rude people. But what I couldn't believe is how beautiful the countryside is in NJ! There are some really nice areas and I would definitely live there if the right opportunity came around. So, I guess, to answer your question, it's a matter of PR. NJ needs to do a better job of selling itself if it wants more visitors. Good question!
