-
Right now I live in California, and plan to move to New Hampshire. I don't have a job I get social security, no car I'm getting ready to be 20 and I live at my uncles witch I can't stay to long he said. I have nothing over here haven't seen family in years dad passed but that's all besides the point. I want to get my 2 bags buy a plane ticket fly to new hampshire get a job and a place to live (I don't need my social security I have a seizure once every like 6 months). I have absolutely no social life because I don't work or do anything. Now what I need to know is how do I pack my 2 bags and just fly out there, yes sounds simple but its not. Am I going to sleep in the park when I get there? What do I do how can I go about this? If you can help me your my hero seriously,... Thank you. Also I only have about 3 months to stay at my uncles.

Answer:
The easiest and most beneficial way to move to a new state(and to prepare for work) as a young, single person is by going to school/college. Research community colleges, state and private colleges and universities in the city or state you want to move to. Apply to several schools, apply for financial aid and work study(complete a FAFSA and send it to the schools you're interested in) and research student housing(most schools have a student life counselor who can talk with you about housing, meal plans and campus life). As a student, you will have time and resources to learn, to safely explore your new city/state, work and career options, to meet new people, to socialize, to grow and mature. If you haven't completed/graduated high school, still contact and apply to community colleges. There are programs to help adults get diplomas, continue education and prepare for work. If a school doesn't have campus housing, look into renting a room near the school(ask the student life counselor & look on craigslist for rentals/vacancies). Save as much money as you can before you move. Use your social security and financial aid, when you receive it, to pay rent, for food, transportation & other living expenses until you graduate, begin working and can support yourself independently. You may be able to get a job and work while you're in school, but stay focused on your studies and keep your grades up. I wish you much happiness and success on your journey: )
