Where do I buy a MARC train ticket?

Baltimore, MD residents.. need help with Marc Train question?

  • Hi.. I'll try to keep this explanation short I am using amtrak to get myself to Union Station in washington DC From Union station I need to use MARC to get me to BWI airport My question is.... It APPEARS that online I can buy a "ticket" for the Marc train from Union Station to BWI... IS THIS a one-way ticket that is applicable for any time of the day? Because what if my amtrac is late getting to Union Station? I have PLENTY of time to get to the airport, but I'm not sure exactly "when" I'll be taking the Marc Train... Like.. say I'm SUPPOSED to get to union station at 10 am Say there's a MARC leaving at 11 from union station that would be perfect.. BUT.. if my amtrack is late and I don't get to union station until 12 can I catch the Marc leaving unioin station at 12:30 instead?? Basically.. I'm asking how it "works" to buy a "Ticket" for the Marc Train... It looks like I can buy it online.. but is that for a specific TIME.. or just a specific "route" (union station- BW

  • Answer:

Marc tickets are based on route, not time. If you are really worried, you can buy a ticket on the train (they will probably give you a weird look for not buying it at the station) though that will cost a few extra dollars.

The Marc ticket can be used on the next available train. Have you looked at taking Amtrak all the way to BWI? There are Amtrak trains that stop at the BWI station.
