Does your school have 8th grade trips?

Question for 8th grade parents or any grade in washington d.c?

• for field trips for the graduating class or in high school for any grade where does the school offer to go for spring break? in california where i live 8th graders fly to washington d.c and in high school to europe. just out of curiosity where do your children go?

  Long-distance field trips are not standard for 8th graders in the Washington area. They tend to cost too much, leaving out the kids from families who are on tight budgets. If a senior class wants to take a trip, they tend to go to amusements parks or (on their own) to the beach. Some middle school foreign language teachers, in the more up-scale public schools, sometimes arrange trips to Europe, but only a handful of students attend. It's more of an opportunity for the teacher to refresh his/her language skills than a class fieldtrip.
