Where are good places to live in Richmond, Virginia?
-
I will most likely be moving to Richmond after graduating in May 2008. I'm 22 and looking for other professionals under 40 (preferably under 30), or even older college students. I hear good things about Shockoe and The Fan District, but I haven't found too many good apartment complexes. Specifically, I'm looking for a 1 bedroom loft, which, from what I understand, are usually under or around $1,000/month. I'd like a safe neighborhood, but I'm used to Baltimore/DC, so a little crime isn't a huge deal. Does anybody know of any good places to look?

Answer:
I would check out the listings on Craig's List (http://richmond.craigslist.org/apa/) and watch till things get closer to your time to move there. The Fan District is great. Shockoe tends to be a bit more affordable.
