Where can I find apartments to rent outside of Washington D.C.?
-
I am moving to D.C. in a couple of months and am searching for apartments. I've been looking for apartments in the D.C. metro area but they are crazy expensive. Any suggestions for finding apartments close to D.C.?
-
Answer:
If you are willing to live with roommates you can try craigslist. D.C. is expensive and anything close in and/or convenient to Metro rail will be priced at a premium. You could also consider places that are on bus routes but not close to the Metro rail. Those places will generally tend to be cheaper. You can use the Metro website's trip planner and enter a potential apartment's address to see how close it is to rail or bus.
