Which is the best WW1 and 2 museums to see inthe Dunkirk area?

Are there tickets to any of the 19 museums of the smithsonian?

  • also, which are the best museums to see coz i'll be in washington for only 2 days.....

  • Answer:

The other responses are correct, as far as entering the museums. But once you are inside, paid tickets are required if you want to see the following: --The IMAX movies at the Air & Space Museum and the Natural History Museum --The planetarium shows at the Air & Space Museum --The live butterfly exhibit at the Natural History Museum The three most visited museums are the Air & Space Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the American History Museum. Unless you have specific interests, those are where you should begin. Also, if you want to get a leg up on the crowds, start at the Castle Visitors Center at 9:00, see their orientation film and pick up brochures and a cup of coffee, and then walk over to the actual museums when they open at 10am.

None of the Smithsonian museums charge a fee to get in & view exhibit halls. Depending on what you like will actually determine what the best museums are for you. In DC the most popular are Air & Space, American History and Natural History. But if you are more interested in art you would probably choose some of the Smithsonian art galleries to visit. You mention 19 museums so I assume you've accessed their site. Two of the buildings are in NYC and one in DC is closed for renovations (Arts & Industries) and one isn't built yet (African American History & Culture). If you plan well you'll be able to see allot in two days. Enjoy.

The Smithsonian exhibits are all free. The only thing on the mall that require tickets are the Washington Monument, and the White House Tour; these tickets are free as well, but are required because of limited space.

you don't need tickets. If you only have 2 days, go to the ones on the mall. Air and Space, american history and natural history
