Whats the difference b/w washington city and district of columbia?
-
Why you guys call it as washington DC?
-
Answer:
The "D.C." stands for District of Columbia, the city of Washington and the federal district coexist. There really aren't any differences between the district and the city, they are essentially the same thing. You NEVER hear anyone say they are going to Washington City(when referring to the capital). You will hear either "I'm going to D.C.", "I'm going to Washington", or "I'm going to Washington D.C."
