What is there to do in or near St. Jean-de-Monts?

What are some things to do in St Louis near the Metrolink, or near an interstate highway with my 7yo son?

  • We are coming down for a couple days in June to go to 2 Cardinals games. We are looking for something to do on the second day before the 7:10 game. Something to do say from 10am-5pm. Hoping to take him to do somethig we haven't done before. We have been to the zoo, the science center, the arch, the arch riverboats, union station, St Louis Mills, grants farm, magic house, 6-flags. Looking for anything in the area, either on the IL side or the MO side. We will be staying in Fairview Heights near a metrolink stop, but would be willing to drive, as long as its not too far off the beaten path.

  • Answer:

I have a couple of suggestions. I'd recommend driving rather than Metrolink. First I'd start out on the east side at the Cahokia Mounds museum in Cahokia in the morning. Then I'd cross the river and take Highway 70 north to Crown Candy for lunch (they have awesome food and homemade ice cream and candy). In the afternoon I'd head to the City museum which is on North 15th Street in St. Louis. Then I'd find a nice parking spot and go to Charlie Gittos downtown for a great pasta dinner (casual but lots of good food for a reasonable price) and then head over to the 7:10 game.
